Technology
Anyone can produce a score. The question that matters is whether you can find out how it was reached, and whether it still holds when someone disagrees with it.
The architecture
One path, and nothing skips a step. Evidence is verified before any system reads it, and every system reads the same verified record.
The three systems sit in parallel because they answer different questions about the same athlete at the same moment. None feeds the next, so no single system’s reading can quietly become the input to another’s.
What it enforces
These hold because of how the system is built, not because someone remembers to apply them.
Every piece of evidence carries its source.
What was recorded, when, by whom and under what conditions travels with the record itself. Evidence that cannot be attributed is not treated as evidence.
The record is append-only in effect.
New evidence adds to an athlete’s history rather than overwriting it, so an assessment made last season can still be read against what was known at the time.
An output can be taken back to its inputs.
Each intelligence result references the evidence it was computed from. A rating is not a number handed down; it is a conclusion with its working still attached.
Explainability
An intelligence output that cannot be examined is indistinguishable from an opinion with a number on it. ScoutEdge treats the reasoning as part of the result rather than something discarded once the figure is produced.
In practice that means a result can be opened: which evidence contributed, how recent it is, and where it came from. That is what lets a selection be defended to a panel, questioned by the athlete it describes, and revisited when new evidence arrives — rather than simply believed or ignored.
Multi-sport engine
A fast bowler, a striker and a singles player are evaluated on different things. They are not evaluated by different products.
Sport determines role, role determines which metrics matter, and those become a configuration. The same three systems then run against it — which is why adding a sport is a configuration problem rather than a rebuild.
The useful test is whether the reasoning holds up on a selection you know the outcome of.
